At Duke, I studied Electrical & Computer Engineering, but early on I realized that a typical engineering career wasn’t the right fit for me. While I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do instead (and didn't even know what consulting was at the time), my friend convinced me to attend a Bain x Pratt event during my sophomore spring. That introduction opened my eyes to consulting as a potential path. I applied and was hired for the Associate Consultant Intern (ACI) role, had an incredible summer experience, and knew I wanted to return full-time.
How did you know that Bain was the right company for you?
I was fortunate to have my ACI summer to determine whether Bain was the right place to start my career. During the internship, I worked on a consumer products case which was completely different from anything I had done before. I quickly realized that consulting was a great fit: I loved learning about a new industry, taking ownership of my work, and diving into interesting analyses. Perhaps more importantly, I knew Bain was the right place to do that work because of the incredibly smart, driven, and genuinely kind people on my team and throughout the office.

One of my favorite projects at Bain so far was leading research on insurgent brands in the juice, ready-to-drink alcohol, and ready-to-drink coffee categories. I knew very little about how these industries operated before the project, but I found it fascinating to dive deep into the strategies and growth stories of companies I see every day on grocery store shelves.
