My journey to Bain began with a deep interest in Machine Learning, sparked during my high school days when I watched a documentary about Google’s DeepMind beating humans at complex games like Dota and Go. Immediately afterwards, I knew I wanted to pursue Computer Science and Machine Learning at university.

Before joining Bain, I worked on productionising recommendation systems for a large retailer’s e-commerce platform. Learning to deal with the challenges of doing machine learning at scale was an incredible opportunity. Prior to that, I was at a startup, developing Computer Vision models for a health-tech product.

After spending the start of my career upskilling and getting a variety of experience, I knew it was time to move to a company where cutting-edge technology intersects with larger business strategy. That’s when Bain stood out to me, offering the chance to work on projects with direct business impact, using state-of-the-art techniques. Since joining, I've been able to build Machine Learning models and software solutions that not only solve technical challenges but also drive meaningful business outcomes.

What excites me most is seeing how we, as engineers are integral to Bain’s ability to deliver impactful results for clients. We’re not just developing tech for tech’s sake; every model we build and every line of code we write is strategically aligned with solving real business problems.

Unlike in many tech firms where you might be siloed into a purely technical role working day in day out on a single feature, at Bain, I’m involved in understanding the larger business context and working closely with non-technical stakeholders. This gives me a much more holistic view of how my work impacts clients.
