Distressed by a falling rupee, private equity funds in India look for a way out of the maze

When it comes to raising India-focused funds, private equity firms remain challenged by the regulatory environment, macroeconomic uncertainties and the longer gestation period for investments. Nevertheless, funds are optimistic about their potential to generate returns, according to Bain and Company's India Private Equity Report 2015. More than 60% of GPs expect median internal rate of return to exceed 20% in the next three to five years, says the report.
