“The move to the cloud is an imperative for pretty much all companies,” says Prasad Sankaran, a partner at management consulting firm Bain & Co.

Flexibility and scalability are just the start of the benefits enterprises can reap from the cloud, Sankaran says. In fact, the cloud’s ability to enable automation, remote access, resiliency of systems, digital engagements, and innovation is now the big driver for adoption.
