Bain press release
Bain & Company vaults to the top of the “Consulting 50” – Vault.com’s annual ranking of the best consulting firms
The firm also clinched the top spot in individual categories including business outlook, firm culture, selectivity, and training
New York – Sept. 6, 2016 – In a highly competitive consulting industry, Bain & Company earned the number one spot on Vault.com’s 2017 “Consulting 50” ranking of the best consulting firms in North America. Bain also scored highest in many individual categories, including Overall Business Outlook, Firm Culture, Selectivity, and Training.
“We are incredibly proud to be recognized on Vault’s list of the best consulting firms,” said Bill Neuenfeldt, Bain’s regional managing director of the Americas. “This win affirms what we have known all along: That our people are genuinely excited to come to work every day, where they have the opportunity to collaborate with our global clients to make an extraordinary impact across the private, public and non-profit sectors.”
Bain’s deep industry expertise and focus on results continues to drive its business success; its revenue once again grew at double-digit rates in 2015, creating remarkable learning and growth opportunities for employees.
Consultants laud the firm as a great place to work and tout the potential for unparalleled career advancement, including gaining extensive international experience through cross-office teaming, overseas transfers and global trainings. More than half of Bain employees worked internationally last year.
Additionally, they cite the personal and professional satisfaction of working side-by-side with the world’s top leaders and the most influential companies and organizations to solve their toughest challenges and create meaningful, lasting impact.
Employees noted Bain’s steep learning curve and high bar for success. They also praised the firm for its highly supportive culture and deep investment in training and on-the-job coaching, which ensures employees have the tools and opportunities to realize their career aspirations at the firm or beyond.
“Bain has a solid track record of finding the best business talent to deliver outstanding client results, and we help position them for future success,” said Neuenfeldt.
Bain alumni have gone on to launch successful businesses, assume senior leadership roles at top companies, and lead non-profit organizations.
The “Consultant 50” rankings are based on the results of Vault’s annual Management and Strategy Consulting Survey. A record 17,139 consulting professionals of all levels assessed their peer consulting firms on a scale of 1 to 10 based on prestige (respondents were unable to rate their own employers and rated only firms with which they were familiar). Consultants also rated their own firm’s quality of life in such categories as firm culture and compensation, among others. For the purpose of the Vault Consulting 50 Ranking, a weighted formula was used to combine findings from both prestige and quality of life rankings to create one “Best to Work For” category.
