BAIN & COMPANY ADDS AEROSPACE & DEFENSE EXPERT TO ITS GROWING WASHINGTON, DC PARTNER TEAM
Washington, D.C. – Sept. 19, 2017 – Global management consulting firm Bain & Company continues to expand locally adding Josh Harris, aerospace and defense (A&D) expert, to its DC partner team.
Harris brings more than a decade of relevant experience to Bain’s established bench of A&D experts, advising Fortune 500 defense, security, intelligence and technology companies on a wide range of growth and operational topics. He has a proven record of driving sustainable results and improving shareholder value that stems from his deep experience in supporting A&D companies’ customers – particularly those in defense and intelligence agencies – on critical issues and bridging the gap between government and private sector practices.
“Josh is a significant asset to our leadership team and to our A&D clients, many of which are focused on accelerating to the next phase of growth,” said Phil Kleweno, managing director of Bain DC. “We’re confident that his industry expertise and proven reputation for delivering results will be invaluable to A&D executives as they tackle complex market and organizational challenges.”
At Bain, Harris will advise and support executive teams on corporate and business strategy, and drive operational improvements for leading commercial, defense, and government services companies. His specific areas of focus include portfolio strategy to drive shareholder value, large-scale cost transformations to improve on-time and on-cost delivery of major programs, and support for OEM and Tier 1 suppliers as they expand into new markets and geographies.
“I’m pleased to be part of the outstanding Bain team in DC,” said Harris. “I look forward to working alongside talented and trusted advisors who are dedicated to helping A&D companies identify significant business opportunities that will transform their business in this rapidly evolving sector.”
Prior to joining Bain, Harris was a partner at another management consulting firm, where he advised defense contractors and mid-tier government services, both in the DC-region and globally.
Harris is a member of several industry associations, including the Aerospace Industries Association, where he sits on the Space Policy Committee; the National Defense Industrial Association; the Association of the United States Army; the Air Force Association; and the Navy League of the United States.
He earned his M.A. in international affairs from The American University and graduated with a B.A. in political science from the University of Tennessee.
