BOSTON—Feb. 18, 2021—In a highly competitive consulting industry, Bain & Company earned the number one spot on Vault’s 2022 “Consulting 50” list, ranking the best consulting firms in North America. Bain also scored highest in many individual categories, such as firm culture, formal training, health and wellness, promotion policies and satisfaction.
“We are incredibly proud to receive this recognition by Vault, affirming that we have an unmatched commitment to our employees, our clients and our communities,” said Kara Gruver, Bain & Company’s chief talent officer. “Despite a whirlwind year of unprecedented growth, our goal at Bain has remained steadfast: we will be the best place to work for all of our employees. It is thrilling, and deeply humbling, that we have been able to preserve this important culture across our entire firm.”
Bain’s deep industry expertise, coupled with its focus on the employee experience, promotes a remarkable environment filled with many learning and growth opportunities for its employees. Employees also cite the ability to work on pressing problems in a collaborative and supportive way, achieving results for the most influential companies and organizations across the world. Similarly, employees note that Bain grants its employees the opportunity to create a career that is financially promising, meaningful and highly impactful.
Bain & Company has earned recognition around the world as a great place to work. The firm was named as the #1 company in Glassdoor’s annual “Best Places to Work” list in 2021 and has consistently placed in the top four since the ranking’s inception, earning the #3 spot this year. Bain & Company was named as one of Fortune’s “Best Workplaces for Women” in 2020 as well as one of Fortune’s “Best Workplaces for Diversity” in 2019. Additionally, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation recognized Bain as one of the “Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality” in 2022, with the firm earning a perfect score on the organization’s annual Corporate Equality Index (CEI) for 16 consecutive years.
The “Consultant 50” rankings are based on the results of Vault’s annual Management and Strategy Consulting Survey. A record 17,139 consulting professionals of all levels assessed their peer consulting firms on a scale of 1 to 10 based on prestige. Respondents were unable to rate their own employers and rated only firms with which they were familiar. Consultants also rated their own firm’s quality of life in such categories as firm culture and compensation, among others. For the purpose of the Vault Consulting 50 Ranking, a weighted formula was used to combine findings from both prestige and quality of life rankings to create one “Best to Work For” category.
