Bain & Company Named as a “Leader” in IDC MarketScape: Worldwide People, Organization, and Change Management Consulting Services 2026 Vendor Assessment

BOSTON–November 5, 2026–Bain & Company has been recognized as a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide People, Organization, and Change Management Consulting Services 2026 Vendor Assessment (August 2026, IDC #US54124726). The report highlights that “Bain & Company competes in the people, organization, change management, and employee experience (EX) consulting market from a position of strategic depth.”

The assessment provides a comprehensive analysis of Bain’s capabilities, expertise, and offerings in the IDC MarketScape Worldwide People, Organization, and Change Management Consulting Services market. Client testimonials further reinforced the firm’s strengths, helping position Bain in the Leaders Category.

The MarketScape notes that “Bain’s Live the Model methodology reflects a conviction that organizational transformation fails most often at the behavioral adoption stage, not at the design stage.” It adds that “The firm has logged more than 10,000 operating model projects since 2000 and references a global client base spanning financial services, consumer products, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing.”

According to the IDC MarketScape, “Bain’s P&O practice is anchored in a genuinely integrated team model that combines strategy generalists, data engineers, AI specialists, and industry experts under shared accountability for outcomes.” It notes that “This structure matters in a market where clients increasingly require that workflow redesign, workforce planning, talent system change, and behavioral adoption move together rather than sequentially.”

It adds that “Bain has made a deliberate choice to remain platform agnostic, partnering with OpenAI, AWS, SAP, Palantir, Microsoft, and IBM while maintaining over 600 internal technology professionals. This open ecosystem stance allows Bain to move with the market rather than defend a fixed investment.” According to the MarketScape, “The firm’s open ecosystem AI approach and its pilot partnership with AI Aspire allow it to adopt frontier capabilities without defending a proprietary technology investment.”

The report notes, “The firm organizes its people and organization (P&O) work around a three-stage motion that engages clients in diagnostic/discovery, mobilization/design and delivery/implementation, front-loading analytical rigor, and working in sprints. They have a comprehensive set of levers as part of this approach, including workflow and workforce redesign, structure and accountabilities change, strategic workforce planning, talent system reinvention, and behavioral change.”

According to the MarketScape, “The firm’s proprietary digital toolset, including AURA for workforce analytics, the AI Workforce Explorer, and the Synthetic Org Navigator, gives practitioners data-grounded views of workforce composition, skill gaps, and AI automation potential that accelerate the diagnostic phase, sharpen the business case, and help challenge and expand client’s thinking on the levers to embrace in order to deliver results.”

According to the IDC MarketScape, “Consider Bain & Company when your organization is undertaking a large-scale, AI-driven people and operating model transformation and needs a partner that can hold accountability across strategy, workforce redesign, talent system change, and behavioral adoption simultaneously.” It adds that “Bain is a good fit for enterprises that want data-informed workforce planning integrated into ongoing leadership rhythms rather than delivered as a periodic project.” It further notes that “Organizations that prioritize an open AI ecosystem over a vendor-aligned technology stack, and those that need senior continuity across a multiphase engagement, will find Bain’s model well suited to their requirements.”

“Organizations today are not just redesigning structures or launching change programs — they are fundamentally rethinking how work gets done, how decisions get made, and how people and AI create value together,” said Sanjay Dhiri, a Bain partner and global leader in the firm’s People & Organization practice. “At Bain, we help clients translate that ambition into sustained business results by integrating strategy, operating model design, workforce transformation, talent systems, and behavioral adoption from the start. This recognition reflects our commitment to helping leadership teams build organizations that can move faster, adapt continuously, and deliver lasting performance.”
