Antonio Martinez Leal, the former Managing Partner of our Iberia offices, passed the baton to Ignacio Otero in 2022, who is currently leading and growing the offices in the region. Antonio, originally pursuing engineering, made the switch to consulting after business school and would later join Bain Mexico City after years at a competitor firm. His career path led him to the Madrid office, where he would take on the role of leading of the Iberia offices. Similarly, Ignacio Otero, our current Managing Partner of the Iberia offices, also pursued engineering before transitioning to consulting following his MBA studies, where he discovered a passion for strategy work. Ignacio took on a recruiting role in Bain Madrid, collaborating closely with Keith Bevans on regional priorities, before assuming the role of Managing Partner for the Iberia region.
As we conclude our Operating Principles series, Antonio and Ignacio join us to share how the principle, "A Bainie Never Lets Another Bainie" fail has shown up for them during their time at firm. They emphasize that this principle goes beyond just professional support, extending to personal assistance and being there for one another in times of need.
