As part of a broader effort to reinforce its position as a leader in educational innovation and enhance its standing as the largest university and education group in Italy, Multiversity S.p.A. teamed with Bain & Company to identify more than 30 groundbreaking initiatives, of which half are or will be powered by generative AI. To test the power of the technology and verify its accuracy, Bain helped Multiversity launch two cutting-hedge generative AI pilots, one focused on didactic student support and one designed to improve the operational efficiency of the teaching staff.

Powered by Open AI technology, the AI University Chatbot can answer students’ questions based on class contents with more than 99% accuracy (as validated by Multiversity’s professors). This gives students 24/7 access to an assistant that can clarify concepts, provide additional details on a topic, identify reference sources, and give instantaneous feedback. It enables Multiversity to “provide a powerful learning assistant for students,” says Multiversity CEO Fabio Vaccarono. “They receive real-time study support and in-depth insights, integrating the teaching of our professors with a unique level of interactivity.” The tool is already active for many courses, with 99% satisfaction from students.
Bain also helped Multiversity launch a pilot that significantly improves the operational efficiency of the teaching staff by providing a custom tool that allows them to perform administrative tasks 90% faster. This saves teaching staff time, enabling them to focus on higher value-added activities.
Going forward, as it continues to set the standard for AI-driven education, Multiversity envisions using generative AI to further enrich teaching materials, automate complex administrative and support services, and provide personalized support across all aspects of student life. This will allow Multiversity to further enhance the delivery of high-quality, interactive learning experiences across the full breadth of its educational programs.
