Michael Zak is a member of our Performance Improvement and Retail practices, bringing over 10 years of industry and consulting experience.

He has advised executives from the top 50 Consumer Products companies and the top 10 retailers, spanning various sectors, including general merchandise, grocery, food and beverage, pharmacy, beauty, and apparel/fashion.

Michael excels in crafting end-to-end supply chain strategies and executing large-scale, technology-enabled cost and operating model transformations. His deep expertise encompasses network design, technology and automation, distribution operations, S&OP / integrated planning and analytics.

Prior to joining Bain, Michael spent five years in strategy consulting for another top firm and worked at both Walgreens and Michael Kors in supply chain analytics and business planning roles. Michael holds a dual bachelor’s degree in supply chain management and marketing from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

In his leisure time, Michael enjoys exploring new destinations, attending live music events, swimming, and cherishing moments with his daughters.
