BAIN & COMPANY ACHIEVES GOLD RATING FROM ECOVADIS, THE HIGHEST RECOGNITION GIVEN BY THE LEADING ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL AND ETHICAL PERORMANCE SCORECARD FOR GLOBAL SUPPLY CHAINS
The firm ranks among the top five percent of companies globally for corporate responsibility
NEW YORK – May 1, 2018– Bain & Company, the global management consulting firm, announced today it received gold rating from EcoVadis, the leading platform for environmental, social and ethical performance ratings for global supply chains.
This rating puts Bain & Company among the top five percent of companies rated by EcoVadis, which monitors supplier practices across 150 purchasing categories and 110 countries on behalf of its 30,000 global partners. This recognition is a result of a global effort by Bain & Company to achieve exceptional levels of corporate responsibility.
The firm has been featured on Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work list every year since the list’s inception ten years ago, ranking number one in 2016 and number two in 2017. Bain is also consistently ranked as a best place to work by the Human Rights Campaign and Working Mother Media, and it was named a “Top 100 Innovator in Diversity & Inclusion” by Mogul.
Additionally, Bain & Company is a proud member of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and has been certified as a 100 percent CarbonNeutral® firm for six years in a row. Bain’s carbon neutral status accomplishment is due in part to an employee-led effort to minimize Bain & Company’s carbon footprint through local initiatives across its 55 offices. These local activities complement firm-wide initiatives, including the purchase of green energy, which constitutes more than 96 percent of Bain & Company’s electricity consumption. All of this contributes to a continued reduction in Bain’s overall emissions footprint, despite robust firm growth.
“We’re proud to lead the global consulting industry on corporate sustainability,” said Steven Tallman, Bain & Company partner and head of the firm’s global operations. “We encourage our people to put their sustainability passions to work every day. Doing so helps the firm develop valuable expertise we can share with our clients. It’s a win for our firm, our clients and most importantly, our planet.”
Bain & Company’s research shows that while 93 percent of CEOs see sustainability as important to the future success of business, only 2 percent of companies achieve their sustainability goals. The firm works to help its corporate clients beat these odds by accelerating their core business strategies while addressing environmental, social and economic fairness considerations.
“The sustainability conversation is about more than box ticking for today’s C-suite,” said Jenny Davis-Peccoud, a partner and Bain’s head of Sustainability & Corporate Responsibility practice. “Corporate leaders see the direct impact issues like climate change, deforestation and social injustice have on their supply chains, labor force and customer base, and they view sustainability as a top business priority.”
Bain & Company has also committed to investing $1 billion in pro bono consulting support in partnership with the world’s most innovative and effective nonprofit organizations aimed at improving the futures of underserved children and youth as well as fostering inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
