Press release
New York – Nov. 5, 2018 – Bain & Company has appointed Boston-based partner Rebecca Burack to lead its Private Equity practice in the Americas, effective January 1, 2019.
Burack, who serves as head of the firm’s global post-acquisition business, has more than two decades of management consulting experience. She advises clients across the full investment lifecycle and has significant experience developing and implementing strong value creation plans and mid-investment full potential plans across a range of industries. Additionally, she has deep expertise in other areas, including due diligence, commercial and sales excellence, pricing, distribution strategies, fund strategy, and performance improvement. Burack previously ran operations for Bain & Company’s North American Private Equity practice for seven years.
In her new role, Burack will be responsible for the overall direction of the practice, doubling down on Bain & Company’s industry leading market position, and leading the practice’s consultants and professional staff. She will focus on accelerating the practice’s strong growth trajectory in the Americas with core clients and services, and driving substantial adjacencies in the private investment space.
“Bain & Company is the leading consulting advisor to PE investors around the world, and Rebecca has been a key leader in growing and developing our expertise,” said Hugh MacArthur, who leads Bain & Company’s global Private Equity practice. “She is a trusted adviser to her clients as well as her teams, and I can think of no better colleague to take our market leading capabilities to the next level in the Americas.”
Burack is also a leader in Bain & Company’s Infrastructure, Construction & Building Products sector within the global Advanced Manufacturing & Services practice. She works with leading manufacturers and distributors in the building systems and controls, building materials and MRO sectors to develop growth strategies and full potential plans.
She sits on the firm’s global compensation and promotion committee and is actively engaged in consultant recruiting and training programs.
Prior to joining Bain & Company in 1998, Burack worked for International Paper in manufacturing.
Outside of Bain, she is the president of the board of trustees of the Rashi School, a K-8 school in the Boston area.
Burack earned her MBA from Harvard Business School and her B.S. in operations research and industrial engineering from Cornell University.
