Press release
New York – Dec. 4, 2018 – Bain & Company is number one on Glassdoor’s 2019 Best Places to Work list. The firm has earned the most number one rankings in the history of the annual list, topping the charts on four separate occasions. Bain has now made the list eleven consecutive times, one of only three companies to do so, always placing in the top four spots.
“We are incredibly proud Glassdoor continues to recognize Bain & Company as a great place to work, based entirely on reviews from our employees,” said Manny Maceda, Bain & Company’s Worldwide Managing Partner. “This recognition is particularly meaningful because the feedback comes directly from employees. It is a testament to Bain’s culture, which delivers high impact for our clients while also creating a highly supportive environment for employees to learn, grow and thrive in their careers.”
In their reviews on Glassdoor, Bain & Company employees repeatedly emphasize their positive learning experiences working with global clients to create real, lasting results and business value.
A Senior Software Engineer in New Delhi writes on Glassdoor, “Best workplace to work, Great Culture, Great opportunities to work onto latest technologies.” In an era of disruption, companies must figure out how to gain a competitive advantage. This is where Bain & Company enters with integrated expertise from employees of diverse backgrounds to “work with true results oriented leaders on large scale (often digital) transformation” according to a Partner in Brussels.
As one Bain & Company partner from Boston writes on Glassdoor: “Bain gives you a great opportunity to develop a general manager's perspective early in your career. You see a variety of big picture strategy problems across a wide variety of organizations spanning the private, public, and social sector and you have an opportunity to have an impact from day one. Over the last year, I've worked in K-12 education, economic development, the music industry, environmental sustainability, retail, and restaurants. I can't imagine where else I could combine so many interests in one job.”
Bain & Company is growing at industry-leading rates – double-digit growth over the last 26 years. The firm’s rapid growth creates opportunities for our employees’ learning and professional growth.
“Our entire business model is based on the continued success of our global team. Without their success we cannot hope to drive results for our clients.” said Russ Hagey, Bain & Company’s Chief Talent Officer. “We see investing in our employees as investing in the future leaders of the firm. That’s why Bain & Company is committed to encouraging and enabling our employees’ personal and professional growth.”
“You get to work on the most challenging, high-impact projects with the biggest and best companies in the world,” writes a consultant in London. “The culture is amazing - I don't think any other high-performance company manages to balance your professional development, freedom to try new things and the supportive, 'family', environment that exists. Bain is truly unique in that regard.”
While many organizations talk about setting their employees up for success, Bain & Company sets a higher bar for itself: to ensure that all employees not only succeed, but thrive both personally and professionally. The firm defines thriving as “growing, developing vigorously, and flourishing even with the different professional and personal dynamics that they often face.”
“I cannot think of a better place to start your career,” said one Glassdoor reviewer from Kuala Lumpur. “You will develop exceptional hard skills (strategic insight, analytic prowess) and soft skills (compelling communications, inspirational leadership, stakeholder management), see a wide range of organizations and business problems, and get the best coaching you can imagine to become a well-rounded business leader. [Bain’s] culture is fantastic… every employee is cultivated to [their] full potential, with not only great apprenticeship and mentorship [opportunities], but diverse growth opportunities and flex options.”
The annual Glassdoor ranking is based on reviews from employees who elect to provide feedback on their jobs, work environment and key workplace attributes, such as compensation, culture and values, senior management and work-life balance. The complete list is available at Best Places to Work in 2019.
