New York – March 21, 2019 – Bain & Company announced that David Hoverman has joined the firm as a partner in its Private Equity practice, where he will focus on media and technology companies with an emphasis on the education and training markets. He is based in Bain & Company’s San Francisco office.
In his new role, Mr. Hoverman will focus on broadening Bain & Company’s reach into the education space, providing expertise to investors and companies making acquisitions in education markets and growing their education and training businesses. In particular, he will assist the firm’s clients with navigating how technology is transforming the landscape in these markets.
“David is great asset to the Private Equity practice at Bain,” said Rebecca Burack, head of Bain & Company’s Private Equity practice in the Americas. “He brings a wealth of experience in the educational media and technology space and will play an integral role in working with investors to determine investment strategies and assess investment opportunities. He will also work with industry executives to develop long-term value creation strategies that enable them to achieve their growth and performance goals and better respond to changes in the market.”
Mr. Hoverman has more than 14 years of experience serving private equity clients and their portfolio companies. He has deep expertise in strategic due diligence, growth strategy, business planning, investment and R&D strategies, and consumer research.

Prior to joining Bain & Company, Mr. Hoverman was the San Francisco office head and a member of the Private Equity practice at Parthenon. There, he completed several dozen due diligences and portfolio projects annually. He focused specifically on M&A, business planning and growth strategy across the education landscape, spanning pre-K, K-12 and post-secondary schools.
Outside of Bain & Company, Mr. Hoverman is a board member of the National Writing Project, a national non-profit with 200 university-based sites providing professional development to K-12 teachers.
He earned his MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
