WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH
You’ll join our Process Excellence experts within the Enterprise Technology team, part of Bain’s digital capabilities practice. In this multidisciplinary group, you’ll help clients modernize their tech strategy, architecture, and systems -- aligning technology with business goals to drive efficiency, agility, and innovation. You’ll develop enterprise-wide solutions, optimize cloud and data architectures, and integrate AI to enable scalable end-to-end digital transformations.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Mission
- Transform traditional Source to Pay / Procure to Pay processes within tech-enabled business transformations, defining best practices for end-state, interim phases, and transition strategies.
- Lead Business Process Redesign (BPR) for the S2P stream, identifying transformative opportunities (simplification, harmonization, automation, control reinforcement) and translating them into a clear, value-backed roadmap.
- Future-proof and drive value from large-scale S2P SAP S/4HANA-enabled transformations.
- Drive operational and financial impact across procurement and accounts payable, enhancing efficiency, compliance, user experience, and working capital performance.
- Develop and maintain strong senior client relationships, guiding stakeholders on value levers and challenging legacy process design choices.
- Act as senior content owner and trusted advisor to client leadership on procurement transformation and digital enablement.
- Develop and maintain strong senior client relationships, guiding the latter on business value drivers and challenging their processes.
Essential functions
- Lead the design of end-to-end S2P processes in the context of tech-enabled transformations.
- Define design and best practices for results-first S2P business transformations enabled by SAP S/4HANA and other critical S2P Tech enablers (e.g. Ariba, Jagger, AI)
- Ensure process design aligns with global standards, local statutory requirements, internal control frameworks, and organizational objectives.
- Identify gaps between business requirements and SAP S/4HANA out-of-the-box capabilities; recommend standardization vs customization trade-offs.
- Ensure seamless integration of S2P processes with Finance (R2R), Supply Chain (Plan to Fulfill), and Master Data streams.
- Define S2P end-to-end test scenario definitions to serve as basis for System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Support, facilitate and steer business process redesign with senior stakeholders, challenging legacy ways of working and driving alignment on standardization and simplification decisions.
- Lead and participate in critical client workshop and working sessions, sharing best practices and steering client towards business process value and results.
ABOUT YOU
- 15+ years of functional expertise paired with good technology knowledge
- At least 7–10 years of experience in Source to Pay process optimization within large-scale technology and ERP implementations (SAP S/4HANA).
- Extensive experience in process design and transformation across Procurement, Accounts Payable, and Shared Services organizations.
- Being able to describe how best-in-class / standard processes look in the industry (and supported out of the box by SAP S/4 system and other best-of-breed finance systems) and where other companies do customize their processes
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex business scenarios
- Very strong content ownership
- Independently driving work planning and prioritization, in-time content creation, and sparring with the broader Bain team
- Being able to understand and keep track of foundational deliverables in large-scale ERP implementations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, i.e., being able to speak technically/ in depth with the project teams, but at the same time being able to extract the most important messages for the senior leadership audience
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional, global teams. And willing to coach more junior team members on content topics
- Hands-on mentality, being able to create “ready to use” PPT slides of good quality
