WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH


You’ll join Bain’s Accounting team in Mexico City, working as part of our globally managed, regionally delivered Finance organization. You’ll collaborate with regional and global Finance colleagues across countries, functions, and time zones to support accurate and timely accounting activities.

In this role, you’ll report to the Director of General Accounting and work closely with colleagues and stakeholders across the organization to resolve accounting matters and support business requirements.


WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM


As an Accountant, General Accounting, you’ll support the accurate and timely completion of core General Accounting activities for each fiscal period.

Your work will include preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, supporting intercompany activity, analyzing balance sheet movements, and preparing financial and operating information.

You’ll also contribute to process improvement initiatives, support internal and external audits, and help ensure our accounting processes are accurate, consistent, and aligned with established policies and standards. Statutory accounting and tax compliance are managed separately by our Compliance team.


WHAT YOU’LL DO


  • Execute and support month-end close activities, including journal entries and related processes, in accordance with global standards and timelines
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, proactively investigating and resolving reconciling items and aged balances
  • Perform balance sheet variance and flux analysis and prepare clear commentary on significant movements
  • Ensure accounting activities are completed accurately and consistently in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and service expectations
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on simplifying, standardizing, and improving accounting processes
  • Identify recurring issues, process inefficiencies, and opportunities for automation or standardization
  • Maintain and update process documentation, standard operating procedures, and other knowledge materials
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, schedules, and supporting evidence
  • Collaborate with regional and global Finance teams to resolve accounting matters and support business requirements
  • Build effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across countries, functions, and time zones


ABOUT YOU


  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
  • You have 0–2 years of relevant professional experience
  • You bring strong accounting knowledge and conceptual understanding
  • You have experience with Record-to-Report (R2R) processes, including general ledger activities such as closing, reporting, consolidation, cash and banking, fixed assets, and reconciliations
  • You have advanced Microsoft Excel skills and can independently build and analyze reports and dashboards
  • You have experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms
  • You have experience with SAP S/4HANA
  • You bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
  • You can work effectively under tight timelines and pressure
  • You are proactive and comfortable identifying opportunities for process improvement
  • You understand controls, compliance, and governance frameworks
  • You can handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and integrity
  • You are adaptable and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a global, remote team environment
  • You communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders across different levels
  • You are self-motivated, accountable, and committed to meeting deadlines
  • You have strong English proficiency
