WHAT MAKES US A GREAT PLACE TO WORK

We are proud to be consistently recognized as one of the world’s best places to work. We are currently the top ranked consulting firm on Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work list and have earned the #1 overall spot a record seven times. Extraordinary teams are at the heart of our business strategy, but these don’t happen by chance. They require intentional focus on bringing together a broad set of backgrounds, cultures, experiences, perspectives, and skills in a supportive and inclusive work environment. We hire people with exceptional talent and create an environment in which every individual can thrive professionally and personally.

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

You’ll join Bain’s Sustainability Practice, which helps our clients make critical decisions at the core of their business strategy. Our work spans sustainability strategy, the environmental and social impact of operations, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability-related growth and cost opportunities.

We help ensure sustainability efforts are grounded in business fundamentals, demonstrate a clear return on investment, and become firmly embedded within our clients’ strategies and operations.

As part of the Sustainability Practice, you’ll collaborate globally with colleagues across Bain, including client-facing teams and digital and technical specialists, to develop innovative perspectives, products, and solutions that help our clients achieve results.

WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM

As a Practice Consultant focused on Sustainability, Digital & AI, you’ll be a critical member of our Sustainability Practice. From day one, you’ll bring analytical, interpersonal, creative thinking, business management, and leadership skills to help advance the practice’s annual and longer-term goals.

You’ll support case teams in delivering results for clients, help build new intellectual property and solutions, and contribute to global collaboration and our external visibility and differentiation.

A key part of your role will be exploring how AI, digital tools, automation, and emerging technologies can strengthen our sustainability solutions. You’ll work with technical specialists and practice colleagues to translate sustainability hypotheses and business needs into practical tools and prototypes.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Solution design, development, deployment, and delivery

• Own and maintain the Sustainability Practice’s intellectual property and solution backlog, supporting competitive research, gap identification, and research into ecosystem offerings, partners, and emerging AI and digital tools.

• Conduct analysis and support business case development for solution investments.

• Develop intellectual property, including global reports, research briefs, market overviews, and solution- and topic-specific materials tailored to sectors and industries.

• Identify issues, develop hypotheses, execute analyses, translate data into meaningful insights, and present recommendations to key decision-makers.

• Support the day-to-day implementation of transformation projects, with a focus on delivering and operationalizing strategic initiatives that create meaningful business outcomes and impact.

• Provide hands-on support to clients and case teams in leveraging technology and AI solutions.

• Lead or contribute to the design and prototyping of AI-enabled tools and minimum viable products, working with technical specialists and our Production Engineering team to translate sustainability hypotheses into working prototypes that can be piloted with case teams and clients.

• Develop training materials that help colleagues use the latest intellectual property, AI capabilities, and digital tools.

• Surface new ideas, share learnings from pilots, and champion emerging technologies across the practice.

• Monitor developments in AI and emerging technologies and translate them into practical insights, tools, and training opportunities for colleagues.

• Identify opportunities to embed automation, analytics, and emerging technologies into our work to enhance delivery and impact.

Practice strategy, planning, and reporting

• Support win/loss learning and feedback loops for Sustainability Practice pitches and proposals, incorporating insights into our competitive knowledge base.

• Support planning for the commercialization of intellectual property and solutions, including developing investment business cases, ROI models, impact assessments, and commercialization plans.

• Support the development of sustainability diagnostic tools and frameworks, as applicable.

• Provide direct support for proposals.

• Support the collection, maintenance, and analysis of data relating to experts and commercial materials.

Practice communications and teaming

• Work effectively across practices and functions, proactively sharing and seeking information while focusing on the implications that matter most.

• Serve as a bridge between the Sustainability Practice and digital and technical teams, helping ensure AI-driven solutions align with business and sustainability impact goals.

• Support impact tracking and feedback loops for piloted tools and intellectual property to inform iteration and broader scaling.

• Train and informally coach junior team members, as appropriate.
