WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

You’ll join our EMEA Finance team at our Global Business Services (GBS) hub in Warsaw, a center of expertise and collaboration. As part of a General Accounting GBS team, you’ll work closely with senior colleagues, including Finance Managers and Directors in Bain offices across the EMEA region.

As an Accountant, General Accounting, reporting to the EMEA Finance Manager, you will take ownership of General Ledger activities across EMEA markets, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This role combines responsibility for assigned markets with collaboration and support across the wider team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working with large datasets, managing tight deadlines, and communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Manage bank reconciliations, including downloading and posting bank statements, clearing accounts, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, including payroll entries, staff recovery deductions, employee receivables, accruals, prepayment amortization, tax adjustments, cost reallocations to other Bain offices, and correcting entries.
  • Review and validate outstanding items, ensuring accrual schedules are accurately maintained and updated.
  • Generate and review preliminary trial balance reports to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of cash and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Support audit activities, fixed asset reviews, and asset disposals.
  • Assist with ad hoc finance requests, analysis, and reporting as needed.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 2–3 years of experience in General Ledger accounting.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems; experience with SAP S/4HANA Cloud is an advantage.
  • Strong Excel skills, including the ability to work with large datasets.
  • Strong organizational skills, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent command of English (C1 level); knowledge of Polish is a plus.

This role follows a hybrid working model, requiring at least 2 days per week in the office.
