Akram Alami

Akram Alami is a leader in our global Transformation practice and a core member of our Energy, Aviation, and Advanced Manufacturing practices.

Akram leads Bain’s ESG work in the Middle East, championing the sustainability agenda across industries, including aviation and energy, advising CEOs, Boards, state owned enterprises and governments in the region. He is also currently advising the World Economic Forum on sustainability topics in Middle East & North Africa, specifically relating to accelerating the corporate led climate and sustainability action.

He is also partnering with WEF’s Leaders for a Sustainable MENA group (LSM) – a group of high level participants from ministries, businesses and financial institutions from the region focused on actioning energy, food and water sustainability in MENA with an eye on upcoming COP 28 in Dubai. Between 2018-21, as Chief Transformation Officer at Etihad Aviation, Akram also led corporate sustainability program and carbon offset initiatives of Etihad.

Akram has been with us since 2009 and has spent his career focusing on cross-corporate transformations, serving clients on projects covering turnarounds, transformation strategy, operating model change management, operational and commercial excellence, and corporate strategy development and implementation.

From 2018 to 2021, Akram was the Chief Transformation Officer at The Etihad Aviation Group, where we held the accountability for successfully delivering a multi-billion EBIT-focused program. 

He earned his M.B.A from The London Business School and a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from McGill University (Montréal).
