WHAT YOU'LL DO
We are looking for a Senior Specialist to join our Nordic Staffing & Professional Development (PD) team in Stockholm. In this role, you will act as the second-in-command (2iC) within the local staffing team, working closely with the Manager Talent & PD Sweden and sharing accountability for staffing and development of our consulting population.
This is a high-impact role at the heart of our consulting operations, combining strategic staffing, talent development, performance management, and capacity planning. You will collaborate closely with consultants, case leaders, partners, and the broader Nordic and EMEA staffing network to ensure optimal team deployment while supporting individual growth and career progression.
Key responsibilities
- Staffing Allocation & Talent Development
- Act as 2iC in the Stockholm-based Nordic staffing team, with shared accountability for staffing and professional development of the local GC peer group.
- Participate in core staffing and PD governance forums, including Local/Nordic Staffing meetings, CTSU, SWAT, and PD review sessions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned consulting populations (ACI–Consultant level) to proactively understand development needs and optimize the staffing cycle.
- Own Client Development (CD) allocations and coordinate cross-office CD requests.
- Drive timely and balanced case team staffing decisions, aligning case requirements, client priorities, and individual development objectives.
- Oversee consultant performance and proactively support individuals facing challenges, using the Bain toolbox.
- Lead onboarding of new consulting staff, ensuring a smooth integration into the office and staffing model.
Capacity Management
- Proactively manage people movements impacting capacity (e.g., transfers, LOAs, externships).
- Advise consultants on PD opportunity applications and ensure alignment with business needs.
- Manage vacation planning for assigned populations, balancing individual preferences with business requirements and maintaining sufficient capacity.
Reviews & Performance Processes
- Trigger and quality-check case reviews throughout the year to ensure timely and high-quality feedback.
- Prepare and lead Professional Development Review meetings for assigned populations (AC–Consultant level).
- Partner with local leadership and PD teams to ensure fair, rigorous, and transparent review and promotion processes.
ABOUT YOU
- Several years of experience in staffing, talent management, HR, consulting operations, or a related field—ideally within a professional services environment.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trust across all seniority levels.
- High level of judgment and discretion when handling sensitive performance and career discussions.
- Structured, analytical, and able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Proactive, solution-oriented, and comfortable operating in a matrixed, Nordic setup.
- Natural team player.
