WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You’ll join the Global Procurement team in our category management function supporting mostly Professional Services and IT categories. Within Global Procurement, the category management function operates closely with business stakeholders to shape supplier strategy, ensure operational support for sourcing events / supplier onboarding / data reporting, and drives value and savings for the firm.

You’ll collaborate with local and global team members and stakeholders to provide project and supplier negotiation support. The role will also include negotiating contracts with suppliers for renewals and building and managing sourcing activities like RFIs and RFPs.  

The Global Procurement team is distributed across several Bain offices ranging from Chicago to New Delhi with your manager in Boston, USA with local colleagues in New Delhi. 

 

WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM
As a Senior Analyst, you’ll be an important member of the Global Procurement team offering support to other Bain teams during a period with a lot of project priorities. The role is limited duration but during this time, the Senior Analyst will strongly influence outstanding results for our internal stakeholders by ensuring that Bain is receiving the best possible services or goods in the market at a fair market price. 

The Senior Analyst will support sourcing projects, manage a variety of tasks including RFx preparation, cost analysis, market research, supplier discovery / qualification and contract negotiation. Additional responsibilities will include business partnering, defining requirements, building RFx and reporting. They will also be responsible for the supplier negotiations on some renewal contracts and finalizing the deal execution including tracking savings and cost avoidance metrics. The primary categories that this role will work in are Professional Services and Information Technology to a lesser extent.

This role is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of sourcing projects that could result in many difference buying strategies developed by partnering with category leaders and business stakeholders. 

 

The Role

This limited-duration role focuses on category support, running procurement projects, negotiating with suppliers, and managing contract renewals, often with quick turnaround times. You will operate as flexible backfill across multiple categories, addressing diverse projects that range from small tactical negotiations to complex sourcing initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting and executing procurement projects across Professional Services and IT categories
  • Running sourcing events (RFIs, RFPs, competitive bids) as needed
  • Managing and negotiating IT contract renewals, including coordinating with Legal and stakeholders
  • Conducting supplier research and spend analysis to support category strategy
  • Managing stakeholder communication and expectations in a fast-moving, high-volume environment
  • Coordinating supplier onboarding and resolving operational procurement queries
  • Preparing reports, analyses, and recommendations to support category managers
  • Ensuring strong documentation and adherence to Bain procurement processes

Qualifications & Experience


Essential

  • 4+ years of relevant Procurement or Sourcing operations experience, ideally supporting global organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to run procurement projects independently with minimal oversight
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Advanced analytical skills, a structured problem-solving approach, and comfort with ambiguity
  • Experience working with global stakeholders and managing multiple competing priorities
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence without authority
  • Experience running RFPs with strong results
  • Proficiency in Excel and MS Office
  • Ability to quickly learn internal tools and operate effectively in a temporary, fast-ramp environment
  • Self-starter attitude with the ability to manage deadlines across multiple workstreams
  • Bachelor’s degree with strong academic performance

Preferred

  • Prior experience supporting IT procurement, particularly software or SaaS renewals
  • Comfort working in distributed global teams and across time zones
  • Familiarity with SAP Ariba, Coupa Sourcing, Jaggaer, or other sourcing tools
  • Experience using Coupa Source-to-Pay or similar procurement systems
