I entered college as a Global Health major but soon realized it wasn’t the right path for me. I wanted a career that would allow me to explore new skill sets and industries every day while gaining meaningful, hands-on experience. While developing recommendations to redesign my university’s women’s empowerment program, I discovered that consulting perfectly combines analytical problem-solving, client collaboration, and tangible impact. After attending Bain informational sessions and speaking with consultants, I became confident that Bain offers the ideal environment to launch my career and continue growing in these areas.

How did you know that Bain was the right company for you?

I began my Associate Consultant internship at Bain without any specific expectations. Over the course of ten weeks, I had the opportunity to independently lead research, develop and present recommendations to both leadership and clients, and build lasting relationships with mentors and friends. I was constantly challenged to think strategically about the bigger picture while being fully supported every step of the way.

Bain also takes pride in fostering individualized career paths, whether through case staffings in industries that spark your interest, externships, or “extra 10s.” Every team member truly has the chance to “Build Your Own Bain.” Since returning full-time as an Associate Consultant, I’ve been able to pursue the extra 10s that energize me and continue developing new skills across a wide range of cases.

One of my favorite projects at Bain was a pro bono case with an educational non-profit, where we developed strategies to improve talent retention. Our team partnered closely with the organization to create recommendations that were both practical and immediately actionable. As someone passionate about educational equity, it was deeply fulfilling to contribute to a project that aligned so closely with my values.

What should candidates know?

Bain is truly a place where “a Bainie never lets another Bainie fail.” The firm fosters a culture of curiosity, where everyone—regardless of tenure, has the opportunity to learn and grow. Exceptional teamwork allows each person to take ownership of both the process and the outcome, while relying on strong support from teammates and colleagues. When I need help solving a problem, I know I can turn to anyone, whether it’s my case team, my mentors, or my start class, because everyone is genuinely willing to help.

This spirit extends to the interview process as well. Candidates are encouraged to take ownership of the case and their approach, while also receiving valuable feedback and guidance from interviewers. The case interview experience truly reflects the collaboration and team-oriented culture that defines Bain.
