Betsy Peretti, an expert partner in our San Francisco office and one of the founders of our Innovation and Design capability, had a passion for business at an early age. Growing up in a small town in Nevada, her father managed a casino hotel which sparked her interest in customer experience and solving organizational problems. 

After studying economics and French at Bowdoin College, Betsy joined Bain as an associate consultant and would pursue other career opportunities in education and earn a dual MBA and education degree from Stanford before boomeranging back to the firm. Just two months after returning to Bain, Betsy’s journey took an unexpected turn when she suffered a traumatic brain injury that caused her executive function skills to severely suffer. She had challenges with basic skills and getting through the day. Betsy thought that coming back to Bain wasn’t going to be possible, but the firm was incredibly supportive and allowed her to pick up where she left off after she recovered. 

Betsy now focuses on the innovation and design capability she helped create with Sarah Dey Burton, a previous guest on Beyond the Bio. The team, made up of strategists, business builders, product managers, designers, technologists, and analytical specialists, helps build new ventures and reinvents customer experiences for our clients.
