Appointment comes at a time of rapid client growth for Bain in the region
May 1, 2013
Dubai (U.A.E.) - Bain & Company, the global business consulting firm, today announced the appointment of seasoned Partner Luc Luyten as its managing director in the Middle East. The announcement was made by Olivier Marchal, regional managing director for Bain in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In his new role, Mr. Luyten will oversee all office activities including growth planning, recruiting, training and development of professional staff and the day to day management of the office operations. Additionally, he will continue to serve clients in the fields of telecommunications and industrial goods and services, with a focus on construction, engineering, energy and utilities and the public sector.
“For nearly three decades, Luc has played an integral role in generating client results, leading Bain teams and building the firm’s impressive growth across the EMEA region, with a particular focus on the Benelux region,” said Marchal. “His ability to help our clients develop the change capability required to succeed in today’s turbulent economy makes him exceptionally qualified to lead our Middle East operations during its next chapter of growth.”
Prior to his appointment, Mr. Luyten served as head of Bain’s EMEA Industrial Goods & Services Practice. He was a founding partner of the firm’s Benelux operations, where he served as its managing director. Before that, he was a partner in the firm’s London office.
Mr. Luyten earned an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, a master’s degree in civil engineering from the State University of Ghent, Belgium, and a degree in business economics from the University of Leuven, Belgium.
On his appointment, Mr. Luyten noted: “The Middle East is currently one of the most exciting business destinations in the world and Bain & Company is well-positioned to support business leaders to maximize their growth potential in this important region.”
Mr. Luyten succeeds Mr. James Hadley, who was recently named head of the firm’s Strategy Practice in the EMEA region. “We thank James for his tremendous leadership and I look forward to his continued contributions within Bain and to the success of our Middle East operations,” said Olivier Marchal.
