The Capability Network lives by the motto "A Bainie never lets another Bainie fail," working directly with case teams throughout Bain's worldwide offices.

The Capability Network works across a variety of project and industry types, executing key analyses in Corporate Finance, Private Equity, Procurement, Supply Chain, Zero-Based Budgeting and others. The Capability Network also helps develop thought leadership for Bain Insights, and collaborates with Bain partners on client development work.

Members of the Capability Network work directly with global case teams throughout Bain's worldwide offices.

  • Analyst: Effectively understand work plans and perform high-quality research and analysis
  • Associate: As a senior team member, leverage experience and analytical capabilities to drive workflow and manage preliminary team responsibilities
  • Project leader: Lead teams of analysts to produce client-ready analysis, generating strong business insights
  • Team manager: As an expert in a chosen vertical, take responsibility for team operations and professional development
  • Group manager: Drive overall management of the BCN, including key client relationships, people management, strategic firm-wide initiatives, compliance and business operations

Transfers & Externships

Members of Bain's global consulting staff frequently transfer to the BCN to serve as team leaders. In addition, the BCN offers need-based transfer and externship opportunities to build cross-cultural exposure and broaden expertise. Examples include case transfers to New York and externships with Dasra, a philanthropic foundation.

Who We Hire

In sync with Bain's process for consulting roles, BCN recruiting starts with a rigorous short list of candidates, followed by a written test, case study discussions and personal interviews. We look for candidates with a variety of backgrounds and experience.

We recruit undergraduate, master's degree and MBA candidates, as well as experienced professionals.

Undergraduate or master's degree: We're looking for analysts who want to be challenged, make a difference and work in a supportive environment for collective problem solving.

MBA: We look for summer interns (associates) who are enthusiastic about problem solving and bring a practical perspective to delivering true results. We hire from the top business schools and graduate programs around the world, seeking people with intelligence, passion and drive.
