About Anna

How did you know that Bain was the right company for you?

It was less about one particular moment and more about a feeling that grew through the many touchpoints I had with Bain along the way. It started with a recruiting event in the Berlin office in 2023, around the time I received my offer to join as an ACI.

During my master’s, I stayed connected through various Springboard events. Each one was a great opportunity to reconnect with Bain and reinforced the positive impression I had gained during my internship.

By the time I finished my master’s, joining Bain Zurich full-time felt like the natural next step. In the end, it came down to the people. Throughout my journey, I met so many supportive and inspiring colleagues who made me feel that Bain was the right place for me.

Do you feel like you can do impactful work at Bain? What opportunities excite you?

Definitely. Even early in my Bain journey, I have been surprised by how quickly you get the opportunity to take ownership and contribute to the team. I particularly enjoy learning about new industries and seeing how our work can support important business decisions.

What excites me most is how much there is still to explore. I am looking forward to working across different topics and teams while also diving deeper into areas I am particularly interested in, such as healthcare and private equity. At the same time, I am excited to keep learning from the people around me and gradually find the areas where I can have the greatest impact.

What advice would you give a candidate who is interested in consulting and preparing for the recruiting process?

Be curious and do not be afraid to reach out to people. Talking to Bainies was one of the most helpful parts of my own journey to Bain, not only to understand what the job is actually like but also to get a feel for the people and culture.

For the interviews, practice definitely helps, but I would not focus only on mastering case frameworks. Try to understand how you naturally approach problems, communicate your thinking clearly, and stay open-minded throughout the case. And most importantly, be yourself. The recruiting process is also your opportunity to find out whether Bain feels like the right fit for you.
