As I entered undergrad, I originally wanted to pursue a career in either law or academia. Luckily, I met a friend's older brother who encouraged me to apply to consulting organizations on campus. I was soon hooked by the industry, which provided an unrivaled breadth of learning and future optionality.
After brief conversations with some great Illini alums at Bain (shoutout to Jacob Mehlman and Andy Grieve) and some case interview preparation (thanks Rob McCracken), I applied and eventually secured an Associate Consultant Internship offer for Summer of 2023.
How did you know that Bain was the right company for you?
After meeting the University of Illinois STL team on campus during my sophomore year, I knew that Bain was the right place for me. I had never before met a group of individuals that was so ambitious, intellectual, sociable, and helpful; it soon became my dream to join this wonderful group of people.

Professionally, I was able to help drive multiple large client workshops for a major industrials player as part of a large-scale operating model project. In addition to developing workshop materials, I individually facilitated breakout discussions for key clients. These opportunities were far beyond what I expected as a first-year AC, and led to significant early learning.
Outside of my day-to-day project work, I was selected to be a Program Lead for our Associate Consultant Internship program last summer. As someone who is passionate about mentorship, helping others grow, and hosting social events, this was extremely rewarding.
