How did you know that Bain was the right company for you?
During the recruiting process, Bain quickly stood out as the clear choice because it offered both exciting, diverse work and a culture rooted in coaching and collaboration. I was confident that Bain would not only give me the chance to tackle some of the most interesting business challenges, but also surround me with incredible colleagues and mentors who are passionate about solving them.
What has really confirmed my decision is the community Bain has given me—both professionally and personally. Working here feels like more than just a job; it feels like being part of an awesome group of like-minded young professionals who are all learning, growing, and navigating the early stages of our careers together.
Share some of your favorite work (personal or professional) you’ve done while at Bain.
One of my favorite cases was a commercial due diligence project during my rotation in Bain’s Private Equity Group (PEG). We were supporting a private equity client evaluating an aluminum extrusions manufacturer. Since I was new to both PEG and the industry, the case gave me a great opportunity to dive into a new practice area and learn quickly. The best part was the team—I was surrounded by mentors and colleagues who not only guided me through the work but also became lasting friends throughout my time at Bain so far.
On the personal side, one highlight was writing, directing, and filming a video for Bain Chicago’s Summer Offsite. It was a hilarious and fun break from casework and such an awesome way to give the rest of the Bain Chicago office an opportunity to laugh together!
What advice would you give a candidate who is interested in recruiting for consulting?
I recommend candidates get involved in experiences on campus that allow them to demonstrate leadership, teamwork, and the ability to work confidently with others. I think those skills translate directly into consulting.
When preparing for case interviews, focus on communicating your ideas clearly and bringing genuine energy to the process. At Bain, we want to build teams with people who are curious, passionate about solving business problems, and excited to raise their hand in meetings to contribute their perspective. Show that enthusiasm, and you’ll stand out in the process!
