About Kevin

Share your journey to Bain.

As an upcoming senior at Georgia Tech, I wasn’t fully satisfied with the work experiences I had alongside my Mechanical Engineering degree. At the same time, a friend was interning with Bain in the Private Equity group. Throughout the summer, he would rave about the pace of work, the fun challenges, etc. and I quickly realized that consulting was a path I was interested in. Through the recruiting process, I learned more about the types of problems, the variety of industries, and professional development that consulting had to offer. The more I learned, the more confident I was that I wanted to begin my professional career in consulting.

How did you know that Bain was the right company for you?

The people, the people, the people. Throughout the recruiting process, I was blown away by the quality and genuine nature of the people. The collaborative spirit and the commitment to PD were both elements of the culture and the people that I was immediately drawn to. I was also won over by the home staffing model. It is extremely important to your professional growth to have mentors and colleagues committed to your success. I always felt that the home staffing model would be the best way for me to be able to build those professional relationships and set me up for longer-term success.

My favorite work at Bain has always included elements of our AIS and Expert Client Delivery functions, which bring unique expertise and perspectives to our case teams and clients. I recently served a case for a large building materials client, where we built a mobile application from the ground up that enabled our client’s sales teams to rapidly build customer quotes from the field directly on their phone. What used to take the clients close to an hour from their computer in the office, they could now do in 5 minutes in the field. The team was extremely collaborative, and the clients had massive urge to change and improve, which made the work both enjoyable and fun!

What advice would you give a candidate who is interested in recruiting for consulting?

The recruiting process is a two-way street – it’s both an opportunity for us to get to know you and an opportunity for you to get to know us. Make sure that you let your personality and presence shine through across the recruiting process (and yes, even in the case interviews!). Also, make sure that you’re asking the questions that you need answered to ensure Bain is the right fit for you.
