I entered college without a clear sense of what I wanted to do, and I eventually chose to major in computer science with a minor in business.
Before consulting, I worked in a range of roles. In high school and my first year of college, I was a cook in a restaurant and on a food truck. After my sophomore year, I joined United Airlines, where I gained exposure to a large, complex organization.
I discovered consulting, and Bain specifically, at the Michigan Undergraduate Consulting Conference during my sophomore year. After interning with The Keystone Group in Chicago, I realized consulting was the right fit. I ultimately accepted an offer from Bain during my senior year of college.
How did you know that Bain was the right company for you?
I knew Bain was the right company for me because of the people, the culture, and the opportunity to make meaningful impact early in my career in a variety of industries.
The people, especially in the Chicago office, stood out from my very first interactions. Through campus events, coffee chats, interviews, and eventually visiting the office, I consistently felt how collaborative and supportive everyone was. It never felt competitive in a zero sum way. Instead, people genuinely wanted each other to succeed, both at Bain and beyond.

One of my favorite projects at Bain was a commercial due diligence for a restaurant chain. Having previously worked in restaurants, it was especially interesting to evaluate what truly drives success beyond just the food. I enjoyed analyzing factors like unit economics, customer loyalty, brand positioning, and operational consistency, and comparing the chain to others I was more familiar with.
As part of the diligence, I helped design and deploy a customer survey that gathered responses from hundreds of participants. The insights from that survey played a key role in shaping our investment perspective and overall recommendation.
