Share your journey to Bain.
A Bain-hosted case competition in my first year gave me my first real glimpse into the strategic decisions consultants help clients navigate, and I was energized by the level of structured, second-order thinking involved. On campus, I also explored early-stage investing and a consulting club, drawn to the breadth of industries and long-term business thinking those experiences offered. When the ACI deadline approached, Bain stood out as the place where I could do that work alongside people I genuinely enjoyed working with. I was fortunate to receive an offer and returned full-time!
How did you know that Bain was the right company for you?
What stood out immediately was how real the culture felt. The people I met were sharp and ambitious, but also genuinely supportive — quick to invest time, share advice, and celebrate each other’s wins. Bain's commitment to people and performance shows up everywhere, from our staffing model to the way teams operate day to day. I’ve felt consistently challenged to stretch beyond my comfort zone while knowing I have teammates invested in my success.
Do you feel like you can do impactful work at Bain? What opportunities excite you?
Absolutely. Since joining full-time, I’ve helped build market perspectives on how AI could fundamentally disrupt business models, evaluated strategic paths during a once-in-a-lifetime competitor bankruptcy, and assessed whether a company should divest one of its most iconic legacy brands. Our work directly informs investment decisions and corporate strategy at pivotal moments.
I’m especially excited by opportunities at the intersection of technology and strategy, where rapid innovation is forcing companies to rethink long-standing assumptions. Beyond casework, I’m equally motivated by strengthening the UChicago pipeline and helping students through the recruiting process.
