Share your journey to Bain.

I joined Bain as a full-time Associate Consultant hire after my graduation in 2020!

How did you know that Bain was the right company for you?

During my junior year of college, I’d sat in back-to-back info sessions from different consulting firms that recruited on campus. When Bain presented, I knew right off the bat that this was the place I wanted to be. The people at Bain who came to chat had such positive, supportive, and candid energy that immediately comforted me during the high stress recruiting season. With every chat I had with my interviewers or other Bainies, I learned more about the amazing opportunities that Bain would provide in cases, extra-10s, and most importantly the community, which is truly unmatched.

Do you feel like you can do impactful work at Bain? What opportunities excite you?

The opportunities I’ve had at Bain are rarely ones that recent college graduates have. In just the past year, I’ve been able to help develop entire business strategies for multi-million-dollar companies in alternative finance and healthcare spaces. Some have even made the news. There are also many opportunities to learn about industries in the span of weeks and become experts on subjects you’d never think you’d know, allowing you to continue learning every day.

“Build Your Own Bain” means creating a thriving career on your own terms. How have you been able to “Build Your Own Bain?”

Bain has felt like college 2.0. I’m able to give input on the types of cases and teams I want to work on. I work with program management to find cases that help me develop skills I haven’t gotten to flex or strengthen existing capabilities. As an AC2, I have quite a bit of control over my work processes and hours, which allows me to be involved in numerous Extra-10s in the office from bay culture, Asian at Bain, class leadership, and even the Bain Band. I’m also in the beginnings of planning for my longer career at Bain, which may include externships, office transfers, or even grad school. Bain has an immense amount of support for whichever path I pursue.
