I came into college without knowing that consulting as an industry existed. Once I began to learn more about the type of work that consultants do, I quickly fell in love with the exciting emphasis on problem solving and creatively thinking about driving change, and dedicated my sophomore year summer to preparing for consulting interviews. Since then, I haven't considered any other career besides Bain consulting!
How did you know that Bain was the right company for you?
From the moment I first stepped into the Bain office as an Associate Consultant Intern, I've had a gigantic network of friends that are dedicated to helping me become the best person I can be: whether it be helping with professional development, providing volunteering opportunities, growing a set random skills, or just providing general life advice, Bainies are absolutely committed to helping one another flourish.
Do you feel like you can do impactful work at Bain? What opportunities excite you?
I've had the privilege to work on a Bain pro bono case within my first few months here. Bain has a giant commitment to pro bono work in general, most of which is local to the communities around each office. Being able to directly impact the neighborhoods around where I live, and the people with who I interact with on a daily basis, is a huge motivating factor in creating the absolute best work I can. Besides pro bono work, Bain teams place a large emphasis on creating buy-in amongst both the client and the team itself: understanding how our work helps people plays a big part in creating team unity and drive.
