Chuck Whitten is a partner in the Dallas office of Bain & Company and has been with the firm since 1998. He currently serves as the managing partner for Bain Southwest and is a member of Bain's Board of Directors.
Chuck is a recognized expert in corporate turnarounds and transformations, where he assists global companies in changing their strategic, operational and financial performance. Specifically, Chuck is an active contributor to Bain's Transformation, Strategy, Performance Improvement, Supply Chain Management and Mergers & Acquisitions practices, where he holds deep expertise in growth strategy, complexity reduction, cost optimization and capital markets strategy.
Over the last decade, Chuck has focused exclusively on the technology sector and has led assignments across a range of hardware, software, solutions and services market segments. Chuck has also worked extensively within Bain's Private Equity Group, having performed due diligence on more than 30 assets throughout his career.
In addition to his client responsibilities, Chuck serves as the managing partner of Bain Southwest and oversees the company's Dallas, Houston and Mexico City offices. As managing partner, he has full responsibility for all strategic and operational efforts in the region and is a member of Bain's Executive Committee in the Americas. Prior to his appointment as managing partner, Chuck led human resources for Bain Texas, where he was responsible for developing human capital strategies to meet Bain's business objectives and for developing and retaining talent in the region.
In 2018, Chuck was elected by the global partnership to Bain's Board of Directors. Bain's Board is responsible for defining Bain's long-term strategy, prioritizing strategic initiatives, assigning accountability, monitoring execution, establishing major firm policies, and, ultimately, ensuring the long-term competitiveness of the firm. As an elected Board member, Chuck represents the interests of partners in all major business decisions facing the firm.
Chuck is actively involved in his alma maters. He is a member of the Advisory Board for the School of Social Sciences at Rice University and has served on capital campaign committees at both Rice and the Harvard Business School. Chuck also serves as a Board member of the Dallas Zoo and Children's Aquarium at Fair Park.
Chuck obtained his MBA from the Harvard Business School in 2004, where he graduated with high distinction as a George F. Baker Scholar. Prior to joining Bain, Chuck earned a Bachelor of Arts from Rice University in mathematical economic analysis and history with honors.
