Jean-Marie Péan is a partner advisor with Bain & Company Middle East.
He is a leader in the firm's Organization practice where he specializes in aligning strategy and organization, particularly for conglomerates and family-owned businesses. He is also an expert engaged with Bain's Developing Market 100 program.
Jean-Marie has been advising clients in the Middle East for more than 16 years and has led the development of Bain in the Middle East.
He joined the firm in 1983 in London and was elected to the partnership in 1988. He opened the Brussels office in 1990, which he led until June of 1994. He then transferred to the Paris office, which he led until 2001 before joining Bain Middle East.
While at Bain, Jean-Marie has worked in many industries such as automotive, consumer goods, defense, retail, tourism, steel, transports and logistics. His clients include holding companies, large family groups, investment companies and private equity firms.
Jean-Marie's domains of expertise are portfolio and growth strategies for large family & publicly-held holding companies, redesign of operating models to align strategy and organization, integration of family and business models.
Particular domains of interest include supporting the development of entrepreneurship in Europe and the Middle East, and the growth of multinationals in developing markets. Jean-Marie is pursuing this topic within the World Economic Forum's Global Agenda Council on Emerging Multinationals.
Prior to joining Bain, Jean-Marie worked as an Internal Auditor for Société Générale (France). He holds master's degrees in law and economics, and graduated from Paris Institute of Political Sciences (SciencesPo) with honors. He also earned an MBA from HEC (France).
