Phil Gray

Phil Gray is a member of our Mining practice.

Since joining Bain in 2019, he has advised mining clients globally on operations performance improvement, life-of-mine strategy optimization, and operating model transformation.

His work spans commodities including gold, copper, potash, and oil sands, across both open-pit and underground operations.

He brings expertise across the full asset lifecycle, from projects and active operations to closure, and has designed and deployed AI and machine learning solutions within mining environments to drive efficiency and performance.

Prior to joining Bain, Phil spent nearly a decade in the mining industry as an engineer and operations manager, leading site-based performance turnarounds and delivering major capital projects.

Phil holds a bachelor’s degree in mining engineering from Queen’s University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
