Wonpyo Choi

Wonpyo Choi is the managing partner of Bain & Company's Seoul office. He leads Bain Seoul's Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity practices.

Wonpyo joined Bain & Company Korea in 1998.

He has extensive experience advising global and local private equity clients on fund strategy, sector screening, due diligence, post-acquisition value creation and exit support. He also led dozens of M&A strategy and PMI projects for Korean and multinational corporate with specialty in due diligence and post-merger integration in cross-border M&A.

He has served clients on various industries, spanning consumer goods, food and beverages, general and specialty retail, e-commerce, machinery, shipbuilding, airlines, logistics, media, telecom, software, healthcare, financial services, leisure and services.

Wonpyo’s extensive consulting experiences covers corporate portfolio strategy, growth strategy, organization, change management and operational full potential.

Wonpyo earned an MBA with the highest distinction (Palmer Scholar) from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he majored in finance. He is a graduate of Seoul National University with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with honors (summa cum laude).
