Junk food and booze could follow tobacco in plain packaging push

The UK’s plan to force tobacco companies to use standardized packaging has revived concern that other goods deemed unhealthy by health campaigners could face similar legislation."Tobacco was the focus of regulators and now there will be more attention on the next wave of products seen as less healthy," Bain & Company Partner Richard Webster said in an interview. "Plain packaging would remove the incentive to innovate, if all the packages looked the same. It would be a race to the bottom."
