BAIN & COMPANY NAMED A TOP COMPANY ON GLASSDOOR’S BEST PLACES TO WORK RANKING FOR THE TENTH YEAR IN A ROW
The firm has been in the top four every year since the ranking began in 2008
New York – Dec. 6, 2017 – Bain & Company, the global business consulting firm, claimed the number two spot on Glassdoor’s 2018 Best Places to Work list, among other influential entrepreneurial and technology companies, such as Facebook and Google. The firm has been in the top four every year since Glassdoor launched the ranking in 2008, including three times at number one.
“We take a measure of pride in our Glassdoor ranking because it is based solely on reviews from those who know us best – our employees,” said Russ Hagey, Bain’s Chief Talent Officer. “Year after year, our people reaffirm the distinctive qualities of Bain’s culture, which is focused on delivering results for our clients while also investing in our employees’ learning and growth. It’s why people join Bain and why they choose to stay, and why clients seek us out.”
In Glassdoor reviews, Bain employees praise the firm for its strong leadership at all levels, with Bob Bechek, its worldwide managing director, ranking highest on Glassdoor’s annual list of chief executives in 2016.
Reviews on Glassdoor describe Bain’s investment in its people and a supportive culture that encourages the professional and personal success of every employee. Bain ensures employees have the tools and opportunities to realize their career aspirations at the firm or beyond. The firm’s alumni have translated their Bain training and experience into starting successful businesses, assuming senior leadership roles at top firms across a wide range of industries, joining private equity firms, and serving as leaders of non-profit organizations.
A Senior Associate Consultant from Bain’s Dallas office writes on Glassdoor: “I firmly believe there is nowhere better to start your career than at Bain & Company. The learning is unparalleled, the firm is focused on strong mentorship and support throughout your career, and there are nearly limitless opportunities to make a large impact on Bain's clients, who are some of the most influential organizations in the world. Working here allows you a front seat view to those organizations’ most pressing challenges.”
Other reviews tout the firm’s emphasis on helping employees thrive in their careers and personal lives. Bain is committed to supporting employees through training, mentorship and sponsorship, flexible working models, and a wide variety of career development opportunities – all of which ensure the firm has the right cultural foundation to allow a diverse set of talented people to reach their full potential.
“We solve fascinating business problems for a living – what could be better than that?” said a San Francisco-based Consultant on Glassdoor. “We have all the support we could ever need from above and live our values of being True North every single day.”
Glassdoor has recently begun to expand its rankings to other markets. Bain earned the top spot on Glassdoor’s Best Places Work in both Germany and the Netherlands – the only strategy consultancy to place on each list.
According to a Bain Principal based in Dusseldorf, “Bain is an inspiring and rewarding place to work, as from day one you feel the tangible and significant impact your work has on the client and their business success. Additionally, Bain has a strong track record in training and developing its people. Finally, it’s the drive and energy of our diverse but highly motivated colleagues that make the work inspiring.”
“It is an honor to receive confirmation from our colleagues in Germany and around the world that we’re clearly doing something right and, more importantly, that what we are doing resonates with our employees,” said Walter Sinn, Managing Director of Bain Germany. “Our focused growth strategy in the German market is obviously as encouraging for our teams as it is for me personally. Our goal at Bain is to be the number one place to work and the most exciting place for top talent in our respective market.”
“We are incredibly pleased with, and proud of, this fantastic outcome,” said Stephen Bertrand, Managing Director of Bain’s Amsterdam office. “For many years we have worked hard to provide our employees with a stimulating environment in which they can grow and develop professionally, make friends, and have fun, while having tremendous impact on the success of our clients. Being recognized as the best employer in the Netherlands by Glassdoor is a welcome validation of the hard work and success of all of our teams.”
The annual Glassdoor ranking is based on reviews from employees who elect to provide feedback on their jobs, work environment and key workplace attributes, such as compensation, culture and values, senior management and work-life balance.
