Who you will work with

BCN Private Equity Group CoE at Bain & Company provides specialized support to global teams across the private equity value chain, enabling clients to make key investment decisions. Our expertise lies in addressing critical diligence questions through a range of products such as survey analytics, digital diagnostic, workforce analytics and disruption assessment. Our teams work in a fast-paced environment delivering consistent and impactful results at scale. In the last decade, we have witnessed an exponential growth, reaching >250 members today from ~10 members in 2013. We operate from 4 locations – 2 in India, 1 in Poland and 1 in Mexico, and operate across all 3 regions (EMEA, Americas and APAC). BCN PEG provides an opportunity to solve challenging business problems in a dynamic set-up working closely with global Bain teams, acting as a thought-partner and bringing deep technical expertise.

What you’ll do 

As an AI Solutions Architect in Bain’s Software Engineering, PEG Alpha team, you will help design, build, and deploy scalable software and AI-enabled solutions that support Bain case teams and clients across industries. This role combines architectural ownership, solution design, hands-on engineering, and technical team leadership. You will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from architecture and development to testing, deployment, observability, and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with consulting teams, product managers, and engineering stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into clear technical solutions.
  • Contribute to the architecture, design, and development of scalable, secure, and high-performance software applications across frontend, backend, data, and cloud layers.
  • Build and deploy AI-enabled applications, including GenAI and LLM-based workflows such as RAG pipelines, tool-calling systems, intelligent assistants, and agentic workflows.
  • Design and implement RESTful APIs, microservices, integrations, and data pipelines that support production-grade applications.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
  • Support the implementation of DevOps and CI/CD practices, including automated testing, deployment pipelines, containerization, and infrastructure automation.
  • Work with cloud platforms and services to deploy reliable, secure, and scalable applications.
  • Help define and follow engineering standards for code quality, testing, documentation, observability, security, and performance.
  • Contribute to reusable frameworks, shared components, accelerators, and best practices that can be leveraged across PEG Alpha tools and client solutions.
  • Apply responsible AI, data security, and privacy principles while building AI-powered systems.
  • Proactively identify technical risks, dependencies, and trade-offs, and communicate them clearly to senior engineers and stakeholders.
  • Work effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous consulting environments where priorities and requirements may evolve quickly.
  • Support knowledge sharing within the team and help mentor junior engineers through code reviews, documentation, and technical guidance.
  • Manage and coach engineers, fostering a high-performance, inclusive, and collaborative culture.
  • Provide strong technical mentorship and elevate engineering standards across the team.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and capability development within BCN PEG Alpha.


About you

  • Strong full-stack engineering experience, including:Server-side technologies such as FastAPI, Flask, Node.js, or similar frameworks.Client-side frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js, with solid HTML, CSS, and JavaScript fundamentals.Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices, with strong understanding of API design best practices.Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization/orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.Experience with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps), including automated testing and deployment.Strong experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, data modeling, schema design, and query performance optimization.Exposure to GenAI and LLM-based application development, including tools, APIs, or frameworks such as OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or similar.Familiarity with RAG architectures, vector databases, embeddings, prompt engineering, and AI evaluation approaches.Exposure to vector databases such as Pinecone, FAISS, Chroma, Weaviate, or cloud-native vector database offerings is preferred.Understanding of responsible AI, AI safety, model evaluation, guardrails, and governance practices.Understanding of data security, privacy, authentication, authorization, and cloud IAM concepts.Exposure to AIOps, observability, logging, monitoring, tracing, and production support tools, including Langfuse, LangSmith, and Datadog.Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts, trade-offs, and risks to both technical and non-technical audiences.Willingness to learn continuously and stay current with developments in software engineering, GenAI, Agentic AI, and cloud-native application development.Comfortable balancing engineering excellence with delivery timelines in a fast-paced consulting-driven environment.EducationBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related technical field.Work experience5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including hands-on experience building web, cloud, and data-driven applications.3+ years in a Tech Lead, Staff Engineer, or Engineering Manager like role, leading engineers across architecture, implementation, and delivery.Experience working on production-grade applications, preferably in consulting, product engineering, enterprise technology, or AI-enabled software environments.
