Bala Kalavala

Bala is a member of our Enterprise Technology practice. He specializes in architecting resilient, outcome-driven digital transformations, with a focus on Responsible Generative AI and enterprise-scale governance. With over 20 years of cross-industry software design experience, he helps bridge C-suite strategy with secure, scalable technology execution, positioning him as a key advisor on digital risk and modernisation. 

Bala supports CIOs and CTOs in modernizing B2B revenue technology stacks, including CRM, ERP, finance, supply chain, and retail platforms, and designing mission-critical systems powered by agentic AI. He drives solution design, builds “from/to” architecture roadmaps, and ensures resilient data pipelines and analytic storage underpin every transformation. His focus on non-functional AI safety architecture and deep RevTech expertise set him apart. He also holds a U.S. patent for secure recommendation systems, reinforcing his technical credibility with CIO and CRO clients.

Prior to joining our firm, Bala led the Americas architecture practice as a distinguished member of the technical staff at a global technology services provider, serving clients across various industries, including healthcare and medical devices, consumer goods, life sciences, retail, transportation and services, communications, media, and technology products.

He holds a master’s degree in Information Systems from Stevens Institute of Technology, certifications in Applied AI and Machine Learning from MIT and Johns Hopkins University, and is a certified master in Application Rationalisation with SAP LeanIX. He is also a sought‑after keynote speaker and active member of the Chief Architect Forum.
