Satish Shankar, our Asia-Pacific (APAC) Regional Managing Partner, initially pursued engineering before transitioning to business. After earning his MBA in India and joining a multinational textile company as a management trainee in sales and marketing, he quickly learned that those business areas weren’t for him and transitioned to finance.

He later moved to Indonesia working in various finance roles. It was during his time at a midsized airline that Satish had a transformative experience. He met with Charles Ormiston, Southeast Asia’s founding managing partner, to hire Bain for assistance in turning the company around. Satish later was invited by Charles to join Bain and later became Southeast Asia’s managing partner.

Satish took the role of APAC's Regional Managing Partner in 2019 where he now focuses on the firm’s business priorities in this region. Listen to Satish share his journey to Bain, what are our priorities in the APAC region, and how knowledge experts like data scientists and engineers are key to our business growth.
