The Rise of Telemedicine and Remote Care

Forty percent of US physicians expect to start using telemedicine over the next two years, bringing total users to 57%, according to a recent Bain & Company survey. During the same period, 35% of doctors plan to start using remote patient monitoring, bringing total users to 55%. Wider use of telemedicine and remote patient monitoring will help support quality home-based care at a lower cost. Doctors, especially primary care physicians, are looking to use technology to improve access to care and better manage complex patients with chronic diseases and other risk factors.
