Mikaela Boyd is the Americas leader for our Financial Services practice, and the global leader of NextSM, Bain’s efforts in Innovation & Business Building. She is also an active member of our Strategy and Customer Experience practices.

Within the financial services practice, Mikaela has a particular focus on payments, banking, and retirement. She has led engagements in corporate strategy, growth strategy, performance improvement, cost reduction, operating model and organizational redesign, and large-scale transformation and change programs.

As a member of our customer practice, Mikaela has extensive experience working with both B2B and B2C clients to address a variety of customer topics, including customer-led innovation, segmentation & insights, customer loyalty and the Net Promoter System, customer experience design and brand strategy. Mikaela is passionate about transforming large companies, especially those experiencing business model disruption. She has deep transformation experience at the intersection of organization, Agile, performance improvement, leadership and change management.

Prior to joining Bain, Mikaela held strategy and operating roles in the independent sectors of South Africa and the United States.

She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.A. from Boston College.
