Richard Lichtenstein is a member of our Private Equity and Advanced Analytics practices with deep expertise in Marketing Excellence. He is also Bain’s Chief Data Officer for Private Equity. He has more than 20 years of consulting experience with Bain.
Richard leads Bain's effort to incorporate advanced analytics and generative AI into private equity due diligence and portfolio work. He has a team of 100+ people that help teams with innovative data sources and analytic approaches. They have supported over 5000 projects at Bain and built numerous internal tools, including several that use GenAI and have been deployed at scale.
Richard co-leads our efforts to bring GenAI to investors. He has met with 100+ investors and worked with 20+ of them on a variety of projects, including portfolio scans, direct work with portfolio companies, diligences, sector screens, and internal fund operations.
Richard was the product leader for Bain’s Experimentation @ Scale product (formerly Test for Results) for five years and holds deep expertise in sales and marketing, including digital test and learn, multi-variate testing and growth strategy. He has worked with companies in technology, telecom, financial services, healthcare, retail, CPG, and others to build out testing organizations and capabilities.
Richard received an MBA from Columbia Business School, where he received the Beta Gamma Sigma Alumni Award and the Michaelson Prize. He graduated from Harvard with an AB and an MS in computer science.
