Scott Vitter is a member of our Utilities & Renewables practice.

Scott's work has included a range of strategy and performance improvement for leadering utilities and renewables project developers across a diverse set of energy transition topics. His specific expertise covers bulk power decarbonization strategy, virtual power plant design and enablement, capital allocation strategy, electric utility regulatory models, and grid capital planning.

Beyond the utilities sector, Scott has significant experience working with Bain's private equity clients.

Scott is a leader of Chicago's Veterans at Bain initiative and is a local champion of office sustainability efforts.

Scott earned a PhD from the University of Texas at Austin, and a BS from the University of Notre Dame, both in mechanical engineering. He previously served as a Captain in the United States Army, where he held Jumpmaster, Airborne, and Ranger qualifications.
