Biografie Jean-Marie

Jean-Marie Péan is an advisory partner and Chairman of Bain & Company Middle East. He has advised clients in the Middle East for more than 18 years and has led the development of our firm in the Middle East.

He was formerly one of the leaders of our Organization practice where, he specialized in aligning strategy and organization, particularly for conglomerates and family-owned businesses. 

Jean-Marie joined Bain in 1983 in London and was elected to the partnership in 1988. He opened the Brussels office in 1990, which he led until 1994. He then transferred to the Paris office, which he led until 2001.

In 2003, he started Bain's operations in the Middle East and opened the Dubai office in 2005.

While at the firm, Jean-Marie has worked across many industries, including automotive, consumer goods, defense, retail, tourism, steel, transportation and logistics.

His domains of expertise are portfolio and growth strategies for large family and publicly held holding companies, redesign of operating models to align strategy and organization, as well as integration of family and business models.

His particular domains of interest include supporting the development of entrepreneurship in the Middle East, especially through his active support of Endeavor.

Prior to joining Bain, Jean-Marie worked as an Internal Auditor for Société Générale (France). He holds master’s degrees in law and economics and graduated from the Paris Institute of Political Sciences (SciencesPo) with honors. He also earned an MBA from HEC (France).

In Saudi Arabia, Jean-Marie is also a board member of one of the largest family-owned conglomerates, member of several advisory boards and serves as advisor to the board of a leading retailer.
