Mining expert focused on operational transformation projects.
Felipe Gattass is a member of our Mining practice.
He joined the firm in 2009 and focuses on serving mining clients across South America and supporting major global capital projects.
For two and a half years, Felipe led the operations component of a major Chilean copper producer's turnaround — one of the biggest such projects worldwide. During the last year of the program, he acted as its continuous improvement (CI) manager, through which he recruited and trained the firm's CI team.
For the past three years, Felipe has focused on leading the turnaround of another major Chilean copper producer. The project is now on track to roll out a Lean full potential methodology across the entire $20B project portfolio (both in execution and studies).
He has also led value engineering implementation efforts using Agile throughout more than six projects over the past year.
Prior to joining the firm, he worked in logistics, accounting and sales at Xamance, based in Paris.
Felipe holds a Master’s in Engineering from Ecole Centrale de Lille (France) and an undergraduate degree in production engineering from the Pontificia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).
He is fluent in Portuguese, English, French and Spanish.
