Mark Burton is an expert vice president based in Bain & Company’s Boston office. He is a leader in the firm’s Pricing, Customer Strategy & Marketing, Advanced Manufacturing & Services and Private Equity practices.
Mark has over 23 years’ experience consulting on B2B pricing, sales and commercial strategy. He has worked across a broad range of industries, including manufacturing, semiconductors and high-tech capital equipment, software and business services. He is a recognized expert in developing value-based pricing programs and co-author of Pricing with Confidence: Ten Ways to Stop Leaving Money on the Table.
Since joining Bain in 2018, he has advised clients across industries on pricing and commercial strategy, core growth and developing pricing as a critical organizational capability. He has also contributed to numerous commercial due diligence efforts and post-acquisition full-potential value creation plans.
Mark currently serves on the board of Bikes Not Bombs, a nonprofit organization that uses reclaimed bicycles to provide economic and social mobility to underserved populations in greater Boston and the Global South.
Prior to joining Bain, he co-founded one of the leading pricing consulting boutiques and led the pricing practice for another large consulting firm.
He holds an MBA from Boston University and a B.S. in electrical engineering from Union College.
